Fourth of July weekend is finally here. As we head into a weekend of barbecues, fireworks and apple pie, we thought we might remind you what the holiday is really about with some good old fashioned trivia and a roundup of quotes from our Founding Fathers, which may surprise some ‘tea party’ members. For instance: Did you know that Benjamin Franklin would have scoffed at the reduced sales tax Californians are now enjoying?
Study up because there will be a pop quiz.
And don’t forget to stay hydrated to avoid heat stroke this weekend, and if you plan on using ‘safe-and-sane’ fireworks, be sure you’re in one of the 39 cities that permit them.
