Marshall right-hander Simi Machado didn’t get much help from his teammates in Tuesday’s RBI Tournament game against Bell. But he didn’t need much, either.
Machado gave up just four hits -- including a solo home run to Carlos Delgado, his third, with two out in the seventh -- in pitching a complete game 2-1 victory over the Eagles. Machado (4-1) struck out five, walked none and unofficially threw only 70 pitches.
If that wasn’t enough, Marchado scored what proved to be the winning run on a RBI single by Hugo Robles in the Barristers’ two-run sixth inning.
