Baseball: Matzek dominates for Capistrano Valley

Left-hander Tyler Matzek of Capistrano Valley didn’t get his second consecutive no-hitter, but he came close.

He threw a one-hitter today, striking out nine and walking three, in a 6-0 South Coast League victory over Dana Hills. Matzek improved to 4-0 with his third shutout.

Dana Hills’ only hit was a second-inning leadoff single by Danny White.

Second-ranked Capistrano Valley improved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in league.
