Baseball: Chatsworth seeded No. 1 for VIBL playoffs

Chatsworth has been seeded No. 1 in the 30-team VIBL playoffs that begin on Thursday.

But the game I’m most interested in is the opener between North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake and Van Nuys Montclair Prep at 5 p.m. on Thursday at O’Malley Family Field in Encino.

At some point during the game, Harvard-Westlake is expected to use junior Lucas Giolito on the mound, with Montclair Prep using junior Max Fried. Those are two of the best pitchers in the Southern Section for next season. Both were selected for the Area Code Games earlier this week.
