Track: Amy Weissenbach qualifies for 800 final in France

Amy Weissenbach of Studio City Harvard-Westlake has qualified for Sunday’s women’s 800-meter final at the World Youth track and field championships in Lille, France.

She finished second in her 800 semifinal heat in 2:05.84.

It’s going to be a hectic time for Weissenbach. After Sunday’s final, she will return to Southern California, because she will be up for the Gatorade national athlete of the year award at a ceremony on Tuesday in Hollywood.
