A man accosted an Irvine couple at gunpoint in the Heritage Plaza shopping center parking lot Tuesday night and got away with two watches valued at $3,000 each and $95 in cash.
The couple were putting their child in a car seat at approximately 8 p.m. when a man “pointed a gun in their general direction and demanded their money and jewelry,” according to Irvine Police Sgt. Dick Bowman.
The man told the couple to drive him to the other side of the parking lot where he got out and fled on foot, Bowman said. The robber was described as a man in his 20s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds.
