NORMAN, IS THAT YOU (AGAIN)?--Universal Pictures waited 22 years to make a sequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho,” both starring Anthony Perkins. Far less time will lapse between 1983’s “Psycho II” and the now-in-development “Psycho III.”
Universal Pictures executives did not return Calendar phone calls about the new project. But screenwriter Charles Pogue, who wrote the first draft of the “Psycho III” screenplay, based on his story, said he is awaiting instruction on inevitable rewrites.
Though he said he’s sworn to secrecy by Universal about the plot, Pogue admitted that the infamous Bates mansion and Bates Motel will be back, “because, basically, that’s where Norman Bates’ troubles began.” Pogue also revealed that the project was written with Perkins in mind.
Is there any other Norman Bates?
