Two women were burned, one of them critically, when they were served a flaming drink in a Los Feliz-area cafe Wednesday night, a Fire Department spokesman said.
Melanie Ross, 24, was reported in serious condition with burns over 30% of her body, while a 50-year-old woman, whose identity was not immediately available, was burned over 5% of her body, said Fire Department spokesman James Wells.
The incident occurred in the Los Feliz Inn at 2138 Hillhurst Ave. City fire officials could not immediately say how the accident occurred, but there was no resulting fire.
No one at the restaurant was available for comment early today.
