American Airlines said revenue passenger miles in February rose 11% over the year-ago month, while Eastern Airlines posted a 6% gain and Jet America enjoyed a 17.2% rise. Pan American World Airways, however, suffered a 7.1% decline, which it blamed in part on the Transport Workers Union strike that began Feb. 28. A revenue passenger mile is one passenger flown one mile.
