Picnic, Play Areas at Park Completed

MONTEREY PARK — The city Recreation and Parks Commission will sponsor a ceremony at 1 p.m. Sunday marking the completion of $400,000 worth of improvements at 23-acre Garvey Ranch Park, 781 S. Orange Ave.
The improvements include three picnic areas equipped with barbecues, sinks, running water, tables and benches and three new play areas equipped for different age groups, 1 to 3, 2 to 5 and 7 and older. The city also has expanded the parking lot and added new lighting and landscaping.
