A murder charge has been filed against a 19-year-old Woodland Hills man in the drive-by shooting of Michael James Altoonian of Reseda.
Kevin Young Cravens was arraigned Wednesday on one count of first-degree murder, said Deputy Dist. Atty. John Spillane. Spillane said Cravens was in County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Altoonian, 20, was shot in the head March 10 by someone in a pickup truck that had pulled alongside Altoonian’s truck as he drove down Roscoe Boulevard near Vanalden Avenue, police said.
They said they believe the shooting may have been part of the aftermath of threats and fights on March 9 and 10 at the Malibu Grand Prix in Northridge.
Cravens faces a preliminary hearing in San Fernando Municipal Court on April 1. If convicted of the shooting, he could face a prison term of 27 years to life.
