UC Irvine Tennis Team Reaches Semifinals

The UC Irvine men’s tennis team defeated Wisconsin, 7-2, Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the UCI Tennis Classic.
Anteater No. 1 singles player, Bruce Man Son Hing, defeated Dan Arendts, 6-3, 6-2. The win put Man Son Hing’s record at 16-6. Man Son Hing has won 9 of his last 10 matches. UCI’s No. 2 singles, Brad Ackerman, improved his record to 15-10 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tim Klein.
Chapman College, No. 2 ranked in Division 2, beat Harvard, 5-4, to advance to the semifinals. Tied, 4-4, the match was decided when the Panther No. 3 doubles team of John Kline and Chris Dundas came from behind to defeat Bill Stanley and Peter Polandjian, 5-7, 6-3, 6-0.
UCI will play Arizona State at 12:30 p.m. at Irvine. Arizona State defeated Utah, 5-4, to advance. Chapman will face Maryland, which beat Arkansas Little Rock, 5-4. That match is set for 10:30 a.m. at Chapman.
