KARACHI, Pakistan — The home of a leading Pakistani opposition politician, being guarded by police because he is under house arrest, was burglarized Saturday night under the noses of the police, his personal secretary said Sunday.
Cash and valuables were stolen from the house of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, acting leader of the banned Pakistan People’s Party of the late Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the secretary, Ismail Baluch, said.
“It is strange how the unknown people entered the house in the presence of armed police around it,” Baluch said, adding that Jatoi was sleeping in a locked room and the intruders could not reach him.
