Gov. George Deukmejian appointed three Municipal Court judges to new positions on the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Roger Boren, 43, of Valencia was a deputy attorney general in the Los Angeles office of the Department of Justice before being appointed a Municipal Court judge for the Newhall Judicial District in 1984. William Pounders, 45, of La Canada Flintridge, has served as a Los Angeles Municipal Court judge since 1983 and was an attorney for the Department of Justice from 1970 to 1983. Bruce Sottile, 52, of Tarzana was an attorney for various Los Angeles city agencies before being named a Los Angeles Municipal Court judge in 1983.
