Golden West Swimmers Defeat Saddleback

The Golden West College men’s swimming team gained sole possession of first place in the South Coast Conference Friday by defeating Saddleback, 62-42, at Mission Viejo.
The victory improved the Rustlers’ conference record to 7-0. Saddleback is 6-1.
Lukie Niode led Golden West as he won the 200-yard individual medley, the 200 backstroke and anchored the Rustlers’ victorious 400 medley relay team.
In women’s action, Golden West beat Saddleback, 77-54. Kathy Vogrin led the Rustlers by winning the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke events.
