Omnicare and HCA ended their talks.

The two companies have broken off negotiations over Omnicare’s proposal to sell its wholly owned subsidiary HPI Health Care Services to Nashville-based Hospital Corp. of America. An agreement in principle was announced Feb. 20 for Cincinnati-based Omnicare to sell HPI to HCA. Based in Los Angeles, HPI provides pharmacy management services for about 125 hospital in the United States as well as other professional medical management services.
