Architectural Design Contest Winners Named

Sung Woo Kang of Los Angeles, a student in the master of architecture program at the School of Environmental Design, Cal Poly Pomona, has won the Pereira Prize ’85 and $1,500, the top award in the Student Design Competition sponsored by the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Second place was won by William H. Machidome of UCLA. All participants were required to design a high-rise office building to serve as a focal point and theme tower for downtown Los Angeles.
There were five honorable mentions: Paul Bonaccorsi and Steven Dangermond, both Cal Poly Pomona; Robert Crocket and Lalida Pinsurvania, both USC, and Antonia Pares, Southern California Institute of Architecture.
