Commercial Expansion Approved:A $4-million project to rehabilitate a shopping center in the northwest corner of Imperial Highway and Beach Boulevard has won the unanimous approval of the City Council. The expansion of the 42,000-square-foot center to 89,000 square feet, approved Tuesday, is expected to begin in July, City Manager Lee Risner said. The eight-acre commercial center now has about a dozen businesses, including a furniture store, a beauty shop and two restaurants.
