Julie Cart, in her running column of May 7, wrote: “Interestingly, both former (marathon) record-holders set the marks in the America’s Marathon in Chicago--Benoit in 1983 and Jones in 1984.”
Interestingly, Cart is incorrect. Benoit’s world best was set at the 1983 Boston Marathon.
