Galley Fire Detours Jetliner to Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — An Air Canada Boeing 737 jet made an unscheduled stop here Saturday after a minor fire was discovered in the plane’s kitchen area.
The plane, en route from Los Angeles to Toronto, touched down at McCarran International Airport after the fire was discovered.
Fire units were called to the scene, but the fire was extinguished before the plane landed.
No one was evacuated from the plane, and it eventually resumed its flight.
