Cal Poly Pomona Wins West Regional

Cal Poly Pomona scored four runs in the seventh inning on a pair of bases-loaded walks and a two-run single by John Love and defeated Cal State Sacramento, 9-7, Saturday to win the NCAA Division II Western Regional baseball tournament at Pomona.
Sacramento forced a fifth game in the best of five series by beating the Broncos, 7-5, earlier in the day. By winning, Pomona qualified for the Division II World Series at Montgomery, Ala., starting Saturday. Pomona (36-27-1) will play New Haven (Conn.) in its first game.
