Stanley D. Wilkins, 23, a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton, died Friday when his pick-up truck, which was on the wrong side of the street, collided head-on with a station wagon, police said.
The accident occurred in the 2100 block of Sunset Drive shortly before 6 p.m.
A passenger in Wilkins’ pickup, fellow Marine John Dolan, 20, suffered facial cuts.
He was listed in stable condition Saturday in Navy Hospital in Balboa Park.
The driver of the station wagon, 35-year-old Claire Abernathy of Escondido, suffered a broken leg, bruises and chest pains. She was in good condition at Palomar Hospital.
