A 47-year-old Los Angeles physician who described himself as a “recovering addict” pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of fraudulently acquiring the drug Demerol for personal use. Dr. Harry Leon Krohn was the seventh of 17 doctors, pharmacists and medical clinic personnel indicted May 16 on charges of illegally prescribing and dispensing drugs for either personal use or sale. Assistant U.S. Atty. Joyce Karlin said Krohn could receive a 20-year prison term when sentenced Sept. 9.
