Car Hit by Police After Speeder

A Los Angeles Police Department patrol car in pursuit of a speeding auto slammed into a third car early today on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, critically injuring the civilian driver. Four other people were slightly injured in an unrelated two-car accident nearby a short time later.
As a result of the accidents, the highway was closed for about four hours. The two police officers escaped without serious injuries. A passenger in the civilian car suffered minor injuries.
