‘ALMANAC’ DEBUT

“American Almanac,” the new NBC News series anchored by Roger Mudd, will make its prime-time debut Aug. 6, a spokesman said Thursday. But the series will not join the network’s weekly schedule until five months later.
“Almanac,” the latest attempt by NBC to develop a successful weekly news series, will air monthly through December, then become a weekly program in January.
