North Stars to Play Soviet Red Army Team

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The Soviet Union’s Central Red Army team will play the Minnesota North Stars on Jan. 4 as part of a nine-game tour of National Hockey League cities, the North Stars have announced.

North Stars General Manager Lou Nanne said the game against the Soviet team will be “quite a challenge” for the North Stars.

“There’s no question that the Red Army has to rank with Edmonton as one of the two best teams in the world.”
