Medicare Administrator Resigns After Four Years

WASHINGTON — Carolyne K. Davis, who has headed the Medicare and Medicaid systems for more than four years, resigned Wednesday.
Davis, whose title is administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration, said she was leaving the post effective Aug. 9 to pursue a career in the private sector. Davis is a registered nurse and holds a doctorate in education.
