Fire gutted a doctor’s office and adjoining medical laboratory in Newhall Thursday, causing an estimated $600,000 in damage, authorities said.
The fire in the 25000 block of Peachland Avenue started about 12:40 p.m. in the doctor’s office and quickly spread to the laboratory. It was extinguished an hour later by firefighters from nine engine companies, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Jeff Myers said.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation and officials have not ruled out arson, Myers said.
