Powerful Quake Jolts Pakistan

A major earthquake rumbled through rugged northern mountains in Afghanistan and Pakistan this morning, and two people were reported killed, authorities said.
The quake, variously measured at 7.1 and 6.5 on the Richter scale, jolted the Pakistani city of Peshawar on the Afghan border and also was felt in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, 110 miles east, and in northern India.
