The two units of Texas Air Corp. said the nationwide fare reductions will average 30% and affect flights on more than 1,500 routes. Continental Airlines said it is offering a $79 one-way coach fare from Newark, N.J., to Denver, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Colorado Springs, Colo., from Nov. 1 to Dec. 18 and a $99 fare from Newark to other Continental destinations, including those on the West Coast.
