Lakers Finish Four-Game Trip Tonight Against Warriors

OAKLAND — The Lakers, off to their best start in five years, will finish a four-game trip tonight against the Golden State Warriors.
Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. at the Oakland Coliseum Arena.
The Lakers (3-0) had Magic Johnson back in the starting lineup for the first time this season in a 144-107 victory at Phoenix Thursday night, but the Warriors (1-3) have shown no progress in getting two of their players into uniforms.
Veteran forward Purvis Short remains a holdout, asking for an extension of his contract, and No. 1 draft choice Chris Mullin of St. John’s seems nowhere near signing a contract. The Warriors denied an Associated Press report Friday that indicated the team was close to signing Mullin. The sides are believed to be about $300,000 apart.
The Lakers will play their first home game of the season Tuesday night at the Forum against Cleveland.
