About 200 people returned to their apartments and hotel rooms along Anaheim’s Beach Boulevard early today after being rousted when an empty chemical truck started spewing fumes.
The leak was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. By 3:50 a.m. today, the leak had been plugged and the truck moved, a spokeswoman for the city said. Some evacuees spent the night at Baden Powell Elementary School. Beach Boulevard between Orange Avenue and Lincoln Avenue was closed for nearly six hours.
