Peggy Goldwater’s Left Leg Amputated

PHOENIX — Margaret (Peggy) Goldwater, wife of Sen. Barry Goldwater, had her left leg amputated after two arterial-graft operations failed to cure circulation problems.
Goldwater, 76, was listed in satisfactory condition today after the surgery late Sunday night at Good Samaritan Medical Center, aides to the Republican senator said.
