A Los Angeles teen-ager who pleaded guilty in the Oct. 17 holdup of a jewelry store in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue was sentenced Tuesday to up to two years in a Washington state juvenile corrections center.
The 16-year-old was believed to be a member of a gang of Los Angeles youths who fly to various cities around the nation to stage “smash-and-grab” robberies, then fly out again. After the teen-ager serves his time, he must reappear before a Seattle juvenile court judge on a request by prosecutors that he pay $100,000 to the jewelry store, which lost $300,000 in the robbery.
