Monterey Park : Corps to Take On Projects
- Share via
The California Conservation Corps is establishing a program in Monterey Park to provide manpower to trim 16,000 city trees, rehabilitate the exercise course and wilderness trail at Edison Park, install an irrigation system at Elder Park, improve the Garvey Ranch Park nature trail and undertake other projects.
The corps is hiring 15 Monterey Park residents from 18 to 23 years old to do the work under the city’s supervision. Monterey Park is one of four cities in the state contracting with the corps for work on special projects. Corps members are hired for eight-month terms and are paid the minimum wage. Applicants may obtain information at the city personnel office in City Hall.
