Community College Basketball : Cotton Leads Fullerton Women to Win

Sandy Cotton scored 25 points and had 6 assists to lead the Fullerton College women’s basketball team to a 75-72 first-round victory over Moorpark Wednesday in the Los Angeles Trade Tech Tournament at Trade Tech.
Julie Bjork and Stacey Rooney each added 12 points for the Hornets (8-2). Fullerton will play in the quarterfinals tonight.
In the Golden West men’s tournament:
Riverside City 83, El Camino 80--Wilson Foster scored 29 points and Ted Thomas added 19 to lead the Tigers to a first-round upset over the Warriors, who were the second-ranked team in the state going into the game. Larry Lockley and Roland H’orvath paced El Camino with 25 and 23 points.

RIVERSIDE CITY (83)--T. Thomas 19, Deckard 10, Landers 10, J. Thomas 2, Burnett 7, Larson 2, Foster 29, Mathews 4.
Glendale 90, Pierce 75--Jon Hoffman was 11 of 16 from the field and scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Vaqueros past Pierce in a first-round game. Glendale shot 65% from the field as it improved its record to 6-1. Duane Newton led Pierce (2-6) with 14 points.
