Newport Beach : $70,000 Blaze Traced to Electric Coffee Warmer

A fire caused by an electric coffee warmer left plugged in resulted in an estimated $70,000 damage at Far West Savings & Loan in Newport Beach, a Fire Department spokeswoman said.
The fire erupted at 10:58 a.m. Saturday on the first floor at 4001 MacArthur Blvd.
The two employees in the bank were not injured.
Fire Department spokeswoman Anne Donnely said 29 firefighters contained the blaze in 20 minutes. Damage was estimated at $20,000 to the structure and $50,000 to contents.
