Community College Basketball : Dons Advance With Victory at Riverside

Rancho Santiago defeated Antelope Valley, 89-68, in the first round of the Riverside Holiday Tournament at Riverside City College Tuesday.
Mark Moses led the Dons with 28 points. Rancho Santiago (8-1) meets Riverside Thursday night in second-round play.

Ventura 61, Saddleback 50--The Gauchos dropped a first-round game to Ventura despite 13 points by Tom Desiano and 10 points by Mike Minier. Eddie Whitemoore led Ventura with 14 points.

In women’s nonconference action:
Saddleback 77, Mira Costa 65--Connie Waikle scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Gauchos at Mira Costa. Cheryl Eiland added 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Gauchos. Saddleback (8-3) meets Antelope Valley in the Saddleback Tournament Friday.
