Tank Kits OKd for Turkey

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon informed Congress on Thursday that it has approved the sale to Turkey of 760 special conversion kits for M-48A5 tanks. The kits will allow Turkey to modernize a third of its older tank forces. Assuming there are no congressional objections, the Pentagon said it would sell the kits for an estimated $206 million.
