Two sailors were killed and a third was injured when their car went off a freeway ramp and overturned, ejecting its occupants, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Petty Officers Daniel Fitzgibbon, 21, and Thomas Gorowicz, 21, died from multiple internal injuries suffered when the car failed to make a turn on the ramp connecting Interstate 15 and Interstate 5, the spokeswoman said.
The third man, Gary Geigen-Miller, 20, was listed in stable condition at the Naval Hopital in Balboa Park.
It is not known which of the men was driving the car.
