Weintraub’s Son Not Intoxicated at Time of Crash

Toxicological tests have determined that Michael Weintraub, son of Los Angeles school board member Roberta Weintraub, was not intoxicated when he was killed Dec. 13 in a one-car accident in West Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Friday.
Weintraub, 17, had a blood-alcohol level of .05%, coroner’s spokesman Bob Dambacher said. A minimum level of .10% is needed before a motorist can be prosecuted for drunk driving in California.
Weintraub died when the sports car he was driving careened out of control and smashed into a power pole on Sepulveda Boulevard.
