How can Walt Hazzard ever talk about anyone running up the score? Against Miami, Hazzard left his top eight players in the game until there was 8:19 to play with a 38-point lead. In addition, he left Reggie Miller in the game until 5:28 left so that Miller could reach his average. Even Miller was amazed.
As a loyal Bruin supporter for 35 years, I never thought anyone could make me anti-Bruin, but Hazzard, with his comments like “step on their throats,” set a bad example for our youth. It’s certainly not my style. UCLA and Pauley Pavilion--see ya later.
