WASHINGTON — A man from Pennsylvania was ordered held without bond Friday on charges of scaling the seven-foot fence around the White House, the U.S. attorney’s office said Friday.
Michael Paul Rudzik, 34, of Phoenixville, was arrested by Secret Service agents Thursday after he was seen climbing the fence.
A Secret Service spokesman said alcohol and medicine taken by Rudzik might have contributed to the incident and he might not have realized he was entering the White House grounds. A mental examination was ordered.
