Arizona State Women Defeat UCLA, 78-62

Sherry Poole scored 26 points, and Patti Peppler added 20 Friday night to lead Arizona State to a 78-62 win over UCLA in a Pac West opener for both teams at Pauley Pavilion.
The Bruins came out cold and didn’t score a field goal until almost five minutes had passed. Arizona State led at halftime, 34-20, and led, 72-50, with three minutes left. The Sun Devils had the edge in rebounding, 45-23.
Anne Dean led the Bruins with 18 points.
