Bochy Signs, 4 Padres Seek Arbitration

SAN DIEGO — Backup catcher Bruce Bochy agreed to terms Friday night with the Padres, trimming their list of players seeking arbitration to four.
Bochy, 30, played in 48 games in 1985 with six home runs and a .268 batting average. He also played parts of 1983 and 1984 with the Padres, previously serving as a reserve with the New York Mets and Houston Astros.
Terms were not disclosed.
Outfielder Kevin McReynolds, pitchers Mark Thurmond and Roy Lee Jackson and infielder Mario Ramirez remain on the Padres’ arbitration list.
