The San Francisco Giants will play the 1986 season in Candlestick Park, the San Jose Mercury News reported. Team owner Bob Lurie has agreed in principle to play one more season at Candlestick in return for a significant reduction in rent and other financial inducements, according to the newspaper. Reportedly, the city will continue to explore ways to build a downtown stadium.
