Chapman Is Defeated by No. 1 Pomona

Despite a record-setting performance by Leone Patterson, the Chapman College women’s basketball team was defeated by Cal Poly Pomona Thursday night, 79-68, in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. game at Chapman.
Patterson’s career-high 33 points gave her 1,484 points in her career, breaking the old Panther mark of 1,465 set by Belinda Arterberry from 1982-84.
Debra Larsen led the Broncos with 23 points.
Pomona, the top-ranked Division II team in the country, improved its conference record to 7-0 and overall record to 19-3. Chapman is 3-4 and 13-8.
