Sea View League Girls : Estancia Beats Laguna Beach

Leslie Self scored 14 points and had 15 rebounds to lead the Estanica High School to a 50-41 victory over Laguna Beach in a girls’ basketball game Friday night. Annie Foley had 12 points, 10 steals and 5 assists to lead the Eagle attack, and Dana Nasby added 13 points.
Felicia Chalmers of Laguna Beach led all scorers with 19 points. Estancia is 5-7 and Laguna Beach is 4-8.
Costa Mesa 54, University 17--Stephanie Swanson scored 17 points and Carol Long added 16 as the Mustangs blitzed the Trojans.
The Mustangs (8-4, 13-9) jumped out to an early lead and were ahead by 21 at the half, 25-6.
Bridgette Jensen was the Trojans’ leading scorer with six points. University is 0-12 and 2-17.
Woodbridge 50, Corona del Mar 42--Gilly Powell scored 15 points, Kelly Millat added 12 and Sharon Hansen had 11 as the Warriors handed the Sea Kings (11-1) their first league loss in an overtime game at Woodbridge. Michelle Willard scored 11 points and had 25 rebounds for Corona del Mar (11-1), and Kathy Smirl and Natalie Basmacyiyam each added 10 points.
