Kansas City pitcher Charlie Leibrandt, second in the American League in earned-run average last season, won his salary arbitration case. Chicago White Sox outfielder Ron Kittle and Atlanta pitcher Jeff Dedmon lost theirs.
Leibrandt, joining Seattle’s Phil Bradley as the only two players out of seven to win arbitration cases so far, was awarded a salary of $770,000, nearly tripling his 1985 figure of $225,000. The Royals had offered $550,000.
