A 27-year-old Costa Mesa man was killed early Saturday and his 30-year-old companion seriously injured when their motorcycles crashed on the Corona del Mar Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol said Renald Dazza and John Pagnini, also of Costa Mesa were southbound on the freeway near Bear Street about 12:30 a.m. when Dazza’s motorcycle apparently went out of control and fell into the path of Pagnini’s.
Dazza died at the scene, a CHP spokesman said, and Pagnini was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, where he was reported in serious condition.
